Joshua Cabrera, B.S.

Joshua Cabrera is a mathematics teacher, 9th Grade Dean, and advisor at The Wheeler School in Providence, Rhode Island, where he teaches Honors Precalculus. He is passionate about helping students build confidence, strengthen executive functioning skills, and develop the habits needed for long-term academic success.

Joshua believes that successful learning begins with strong relationships. Known for his warmth, humor, and ability to connect with students, he creates supportive learning environments where students feel challenged, valued, and empowered to grow. His work focuses not only on math instruction, but also on skills such as organization, time management, self-advocacy, and effective study strategies.

As a first-generation college graduate who later learned he has dyslexia and ADHD, Joshua understands that every student learns differently. These experiences have shaped his commitment to helping students recognize their strengths, build confidence, and reach goals they may not have thought possible.

Joshua brings a mentor mindset to every session, believing that when students feel supported and understood, meaningful growth can follow both inside and outside the classroom.
